In the latest version of Microsoft word which is Microsoft word 2007 it has a plugins that you can directly save your document into pdf file format.
I dowloaded the Microsoft word 2007 pdf plugins from the microsoft official website, and I install it. Here is the screen you will see if you successfully install the plugins.
